I read about this in Bike magazine (from england, best motorcycle mag out there imo) they said that the suit is designed to keep the riders neck from being broke in a crash. Not really a bad idea, but it looks like it still may need a little more R&D.

When I was researching gear when I first got my bike, I came across a jacket that was well proven to help in accidents. It had the bags on the inside sort of though and a piece that poped up like a collar for your neck. It looked like it worked alot better then this one. Ill post the link if i can find it.
