Wind has less effect on a faster moving object. The faster the bike is going the less time the wind well have to exert force on each square inch on the bike. I've never been good for explaining things, but its something Ive found out in a physics lab. Please note Im NOT saying haulass threw the cross winds lol.
Lucky my Thunderace doesnt seem to be too effected by it. As a skinny guy tucking solves whatever "push" I do feel.

In all honesty theres no secret to riding in cross winds, its just experience and something you have to get used to. But tips would definitely be to lean and give it throttle. You will get used to it, at least wind doesnt hurt like a down pour rain does.

My bike corrects itself when I get hit with a gusty cross wind. I was really surprised at first that it was not a bigger deal, but cross winds do not really bother me as the bike just automatically leans into it and keeps going straight. The tires move left or right depending on the direction of the wind, but never more than 1/4 of a lane or so and my body barely moves at all, just leans into the wind a bit with the bike.

It sounds like not all bikes do that from the rest of these posts???

Yeah some bikes like mine you have to lean into it yourself, because the bike will just move into the direction the wind is blowing it...it sucks when there's wind coming from both sides and you have to constantly lean to the left and switch and lean to the right...but all in all its kinda fun resting on the tank and just giving it the gas it was made to take...lol
