Those are all slow 4 stroke 250's (waste of money you will get tired of it). Get a yzf450(fourstroke) thats basically the equivelant of a 250cc 2 stroke(badass bikes). There is hardrock in ocala, theres a track in lakeland, track in mulberry, track in dade city, track off 118th street(clearwater I believe). There is also CROOM in brooksville basically a shitload of land for dirtbikes and what not, good place to learn and just have fun, they have huge hill climbs, jumps, trails, camping etc.

All of the bikes you listed are very nice.
I like Yamaha, but Honda dirt bikes are awesome too.
There really is no bad dirt bike so to speak.
Croom is just North of USF about 4 - 5 exits.
Good Luck!

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”

first bike? wahts your weight/height? There is NOTHING wrong witht he 250 4 strokers, Im a 2 stroke guy, but the technology and the R&D are soooo good in the 4 strokes now that they ARE the bikes to beat on the track. Take a look at ANY motocross race and count how many 2 strokers you see out there
not gonna be too many, the 4 strokes offer ease of riding as you dont have to be 'on the pipe' all th time to make any power. The ONLY downside to 4 strokes now is the fact when something in the engine goes kaplunk, your automatically out about $500, a 2 stroke can be rebuilt with a piston and rings for about $100, and since there is no camshafts or valves, the likelyhood of things breaking is slimmer, BUT, that is worst case scenario shit, id DEF recommend the 4 strokes ESPECIALLY for cruising in the woods and farting around in this florida sand, you'll LOVE the feeling of TORQUE
Other than that, stick with the 'big 4' and you won't have ANY issues, pick up a motocross magazine at the grocery store and read the reviews on each bike your looking at, they test them all the time and give ride reports. See which one they write about gets you a big grin on your face when you think about riding it haha
as for BUYING a dirtbike, if you are comfortable buying used, you can save thousands, an older YZF or CRF or the like will run you like $3k or less, but go and buy it new and your looking at dishing out at least $6k or MORE, yikes!

im a big 2stroke fan... easy to rebuild.. you learn proper riding technique with having to be 'on the pipe' and you learn proper throttle/clutch control. theres a bunch of tracks around here that others have listed.. goodluck with your purchase..
remember, smaller starting bikes and learning proper technique is KING! its your first bike not your last! welcome to BT

I LOVE that! thanks for the new quote!
I agree with the fact it MAKES you learn riding techniques on a two-stroke, cause when you ride a 4 stroke after coming from a 2 stroke you RIP! THEN you can discover too the MAGIC in the 4-strokes, engine braking is the shit as is being able to have the torque available and traction available NOW!
Badass bike slohatch!

In all honesty. Since its your first bike a 125cc 2 stroke will dust a 250 4 stroke and comes alot more equipped(forks etc.) for a track, a 250cc 2 Stroke for your first bike is wayyyyyyyyyy to much. If anything get a 125cc 2 stroke, you will be more than satisfied for a long long time, I modded my 125 pretty extensively and in a shorter track my 125 with me riding would walk on my 250 with me riding. The 250 just has so much power and on a shorter track you just cant open up the monster.
250cc 4 stroke is a waste of money IMO. Slow and gay is how I see it.
O btw. If you end up getting a two stroke, always carry and extra spark plug with you as sometimes they like to foul out while your riding in the woods they are only a couple bucks for most bikes. If your bike wont kick over its most likely a sprak plug not a blown motor
