I happen to live in Citrus, I lived here off and on for about 9 years. And I'll have to say the cops here are pretty bad. Citrus county has the highest Oficer to Citizen ratio in the state. That being said, don't bother fighting it you'll still pay depending on what judge you get. If you get Howard, you're screwed. I was once pulled over for 48 in a 45, my car was searched because he supected that i was carrying drugs. I don't drive a hot car either is a Volvo S60. In the end he didn't find anything he just wrote me a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt even though i was. So i went in to fight it and becuase I recieved a speeding ticket in 1997 he thought that was enough grounds to up hold the seat belt violation. I know ridiculous. So, fight it at your own risk.

As for Ozello road, its awesome but so rough on your tires because of the surface. Have you tried, Istachata rd, Turkey, Windham, or any where around there(inland). The roads are just as curvy as Ozello but nicer cement and no cops. Ozello has gotten hot in the last couple years and I wont run it unless its early in the morning. I also had a bad experience out there once with a wart hog that i hit at abou 50 mph. You gotta watch for stuff coming out of the reeds.

 

I live in citrus county too. If go to Ozello go early.Usually if there is a bike crash on Ozello the area is going to hot for awhile. I've been here 7 years and have been pulled over half of dozen times and only got one ticket. This cop was a real asshole,can't remember his name but he was a bike cop.Just to prove how low he was he would hide near churches on Sundays so he could snag people rushing to get to church. I don't think citrus county is so hard on the locals as opposed to people driving through citrus. In fact I believe out of towners have to pay more when they get a traffic citiation. Let me know next time you guys come through. I usually ride the brooksville area.

 

Yeah man good luch....I live in Citrus and its pretty much everyone getting pulled over on site right now....Its effing bullshit but if you have a lawyer you might be able to get out of it
