Default 33 over, mandatory court date. know a lawyer?

.wysiwyg { background-attachment: scroll; background-repeat: repeat; background-position: 0% 0%; background-color: #324259; background-image: none; color: #e0e0f6; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Arial; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal } p { margin: 0px; }So here I am, riding north on 41, trying to get home before it starts to rain badly. I'm sleepy, but I wasnt falling off the bike, and I didn't think that I was impaired enough to warrant pulling over to keep myself alive.

An SUV was giving me trouble, so I passed him, saw that I needed gas, and shortly after pulled up to a traffic light to make a left to a gas station. I noticed an unmarked cop behind me, he didnt have his lights on, and subsequently, I didnt think anything of it....untill he pulled up beside me as i put my kickstand down and demanded my liscense and registration.

I was too tired to realize that he had been following me for a while. I'm usually very observant. He says he clocked me at 83 in a 50. I told him I didn't see his lights on, he says that they werent, but it was very nice of me to stop. (however inadvertent that was).

He was visibly surprised to see only one other ticket on my record three years ago. Being that I was quite polite, he seemed to appreciate that, but continued to write the ticket. Mentioned that his buddy has the same bike, and he knows that they go fast, but to "slow it down".*He*said*that*he*had*been*following*me*for*a *while*and*i*was*speeding*but**he*wasnt*going*to*b other*me...then*it*became*excessive. I mentioned that a car was giving me trouble and I had to get away from him, but it probably would have been smarter to just pull over and let him go... The cop then gave me a tip or two on how to get better results with the magistrate, and thanked me for my courtesy, and then pulled away.

On the way home, i counted 5-6 cops. My grogginess prevented me from noticing that they had a thing going on , and thus, i think i ran straight into that mess.

Or i was just unlucky.

THUS, I need a referal to a decent Traffic Attorney to let him handle this ticket for me. I would like to get this cleared away as soon as possible. Please PM or post in here with any experience you've had with something like this, or perhaps any good lawyers that you know of.

Bottom line, I was speeding excessively. I have no excuse. But court is just a trap, I'll need a guide to help me through it.

td;lr - Got a ticket. Must go to court. Would you happen to know a good lawyer?

ahh I don't think 33 over is a mandatory court date its 35.. in Pasco at least, I got pulled over doing 78 in a 45 and all i had was points and a $180 ticket but off course i took the road course thing and only had to pay $150 and received 0 points.

hillborough county. btw, i had no idea that pasco county had their statutes so tough.

I'll be calling*Dennis Lopez tomorrow to see what can be done about it all.

thanks guys. I think someone should collect all the legal/traffic violation info on TR and put it into a sticky if it hasnt been done already.
