Just telling it like it is
practicing the north run gets you faster on the north run not the track. the only way to actually BE faster at the track is to ride at the track. but the north run gives me time to practice my body positioning which i hope will scoot me through turns 3-12 a lot faster. im really gettin off the seat nowadays. i can enter and exit corners a lot faster then before just from bein more comfortable leaning off as much as i can.

I didn't say anything about form...

Assuming that the N-Run will make you faster on any track isn't very realistic. Speed at any given venue will only come with practice there.

"hint"
learn to go fast in the fast sections and slow in the slow sections. you do not make up alot of time going thru 7-11, you gain the most from entering into 1, maintaining and more exit speed then really hitting 2, down thru 3 (which you should be on the gas thru 3 then roll off into 4) and with the proper setup out of 10 your drive thru 11 will be better and really hitting 12 hard down into 13

need tires (take offs)? PM me
need a deal on a track day? PM me

disclaimer: I sell used tires (take-offs), these tires have been used at Jennings, Homestead, etc. (road courses for those that dont know) therefor these tires are more used up on the sides than in the middle,

JGP is actually a very very simple "race" line...all trash talkin aside, i had the race line by the 2nd session....and was working on a few "advanced" lines on my own just before lunch break (mostly experimenting within the packed Novice group), according to another control rider there....

but Wolfie is kickin some knowledge right der....good post.....thx....

I can guarantee you weren't on the "race line" if you were riding in the novice group.

The "race line" changes. The faster you go, you'll have to change your lines. Just watch MotoGP or whatever, different riders use different lines based on a number of factors.

+1,

let me correct myself beofe I get 10 different people telling me thay were on the race line by the end of lap 1 in their first novice session,

you dont have to be on the "race line" so to speak but able to hold a line, the key words are smooth and consistent, we dont want guys all over the track, we show you the dots as an exaggeration of the race line to give you reference points to aim for

i understand that principal...as is stated in my post... i was using advanced lines around the novice group that day...cuz some spots were slower and some were faster with traffic....

Wolfie...i know that you know that track is not that difficult and doesnt have that many fast lines....there are many ways through a corner and i study this shit just like you guys....early apexing for drive, late apexing for set-up, all dat shit...but dont make it more complicated than it is, and that track just isn't complicated....

It isn't a difficult track to learn at all.
