I changed my oil a week or two ago and took a little less than 3 qts. I actually ended up putting 3 qts in so it is a little overfull but not enough to hurt anything.

2 local dealers have told me and Tim (1fstmaxima) 3.1qt with filter change. Thats what your old bike took and the service guys never bothered to check the manulas to see if the new bikes were different. I asked the service guy that changed my oil to look it up. He checked the 600 and 750 service manuals and both said 2.6qt with filter change.

I know it does but 2.6 gets the level up close to the top of the sight glass.

Alright well then... 2.6qts it is. If it says it in the manual, and it puts it almost to the top of the sight glass, I don't care what you guys put in your kawi's hondas and yama's, I'm not putting 4 qts in mine. lol.

My '06 1000 takes 3.5 US quarts according to the owner's manual... 3.2 if you don't change the filter.
