Default Police chase laws

Ive heard that there are limits to how fast the cops can chase you... is there any truth to the myth? if so, what speeds do they have to back off?

+1 the cost of a ticket isn't worth the burden of a lifetime from loss of life/injury whether mine or someone else's.

umm i was driving on I-10 one night going to another state and i was doing about 115 to 120 just pacing that speed because i didnt see no other cars and all of a sudden i saw a car behind me about a good mile and i started speeding up to like 130, then about for a good mile i started slowing down to about 110 then all of a sudden bam i realize it was a state trooper, then he speed up and got behind me with the blue and red lights, so according to your question, i would say if you are driving that fast and you see lights behind and you cant tell if its a cop or not, just keep going and dont slow down.......lol

I have friends that are Clearwater PD, Largo PD and Sheriffs, they told me that they CAN NOT chase you within city limits if you break 100mph, now if you are on I-275 or something they CAN persue you over those speeds.... now I live in Pinellas and ive heard this plenty of times with no change in the story from cops and other riders, etc.... but +1 on the pulling over, its not worth it anymore, chances are they have your tag number and will find you eventually....
