actually the Hughes 500 (one of the fastess copters available to cops), which i believe that tampa pd has one, can move upto 175 at max. But they cant maintain that as along as bike can cause its dangerous for it to. that speed is bordering on structual damage.

but its not the copter you have to out run its that FLIR system on the front of the copter.

The police will stop chasing you at 187.

And outrunning a helicoptor is VERY VERY unlikely. They don't have to be on top of you to turn one of many different view modes from their gyroscopic camera on you. Not to mention they coordinate with ground units.

But yeah, there's your answer.

ha, i highly doubt tpd or sppd is going to send their million dollar helicopters out to serve a fleeing and eluding warrant.

hey i guess theres always a chance one might be "in the neighborhood".

but seriously who has ever been chased by a copter, really? besides probably ghost rider.

I doubt they 'call them out'. However air does patrol the streets at random. One may just happen to be right near you as a patrol car calls it in.

They all share the same law... If they catch you, you are fucked.

A while back riding out from Frontage Rd (those were the days) as I got onto the HF the whole ground lit up around me.. Helicopter right overhead. All the faster bikes took off and the chopper followed them, I just kept going my 120 mph and was left alone damn sv650

Controlled airspace - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

they have to get clearance or some kind of authorization to fly anywhere near an airport(i.e. ones with high traffic, like tampa international). i highly doubt that cops are going to be that persistent as to call air traffic control in hopes to find somone on a speeding motorcycle that is already parked in a 7 story parking garage, ungeared and probably sitting in the lobby by the time they get clearance.

and you're right, i have never tried this becuase i have never been chase by a helicopter, but considering the facts, there is no reason why it shouldnt work.

oh btw, i was born here and have never been outside of the country, so i wouldnt know what they do in "azia".

have a nice day.
