People only run because the crime they commit (aka: doing a wheelie) does not justify the punishment that is given. Is doing a wheelie really so dangerous that it warrants a worse punishment than DUI. Make the punishment more in line with the crime comitted and you will see people stop running. I don't mind paying a $100 fine for doing a wheelie, i do mind having my license taken away for a year.
it's wreckless driving...you're not going to be able to turn during a wheelie, and your braking is extremely hindered. the punishment is just for the crime.
what is going to give me a good chuckle, is when one of you people who think they are going to run, and your trying to outrun one of the couple FHP cars i know would eat up 600's and keep 1000's in sight. and by no means fool yourselves into thinking a bike handles better than a car.
but most of all, if you run, and you end up seeing me, pray to whoever it is you pray to, cause chances are it isn't looking good and you don't have a lot of time.

yeah, but the people still know that the cop needs to get through, and they can see him because he has flashing lights and sirens. what does a biker have that lets people know hes coming up behind them doing 120?

hell in heavy traffic the bike wouldent even have to go but like 10 over the speedlimit to disapire.

LoL. Reading everyones responses makes me realize how much of a crazy fuck I was.
1. I refused to blow when i got yoked for speeding in my 240. Lost my license for a year. BAM! Gone.
2. 10 days later i got a new 06 1k. Rode for a year w/ no license or plate. Ran every single f*in time.. It got so bad that I was being chased twice weekly. The chopper got on me from gandy as I ran all the way to hwy54. I finally gave up and pulled over @ the hill. pasco line. As i stood there awaiting ground units to rush me, i got on my knees and prayed (literally). By now, the chopper caught back up and was about 75 ft. over me w/ big spot light on for 10 minutes... then he just flew away... then I flew away... lol...
Sold my bike 2 months later thinking i was lucky enough and luck runs out soon enough...
Moral of story... RUN. They won't catch you. I PROMISE YOU WILL GET AWAY! "Just remain level headed, and dont let your adrenaline make your decisions for you"
O and BTW... that cop would be buying me new plastics, brake levers and bar grips.

And we wonder why there are so many rider down threads.... NONE of you can push a bike to its limits on the street, no one is that precognitive to know the roads here and what obsticles are on them. if the cops dont catch you, your own stupidity will, maybe not right away but eventually. and as previously stated, its hard to outrun a Motorola.
