haha I just got this text not 20mins before reading this thread. new 1/4 times and mph from sportrider for 07's

the 07 r1 stepped up big time in power over the 06... 3rd fastest still kinda sucks thou. the gixxer seems to have stepped up to... good thing for kawi fans is that the new zx10 comes out next year. so they should put the 10 back on top of hp...

as for handling... who knows. all are good. mph in the 1/4 is all you can really judge. everything else is up to rider skill.

 

my friend morgan took her 06 r1 to the track and is stock and ran high 9's.

either way... she must be a bad ass bitch. a true stock 06 r1 is about a 10.4 bike with a good rider. lowered, straped, geared, full aftermarket pipe and the 6k dip tuned out with a coustom tune on a pc3 and it will go high 9s @ 144ish... but the other 3 will do mid 9s @150ish with that much work.


atleast from what I've seen at the track. point being they were down on hp from the other 3 till this year, and even this year is a bit down but wayyy better. and not really enough to care about.

I like the R1 a lot... as I've said before, I hope they get all the cool electronic stuff right so that the other 3 have to follow. I like the idea of that stuff. just think it needs a few years to be refined.

 

There is really nothing wrong with all the 'cool electronic stuff' .. They've been using fly by wire throttle on the R6 for two years now. The lag on the R1 at 5500 RPM in 2nd gear is for emissons purposes... If you unplug the speed sensor the lag is gone.

still the point remains... put her on any of the other 3 with the same mods and she would go faster...


I can't stand tsb so someone go there and tell me what she ran..60' 1/8 1/4 and mph.


I don't drag race because I'm very bad at it... but I do understand it pretty well. also I wouldn't mind being murdered by a chick in a race. tell her I'd hit one off from a stop at stock hight. she can even have the gearing.

i was there she did do a 9.9? i think at 142 mph i saw it but you figure the bike is lowered she ways 120 130# thats the major contributer there...i was on a bone stock gixxer 1000 and ran a 10.1 at 143 and i wiegh 160 170 dependin on how much beer i drink the night before....that was my best mostly in the 10.2's though...but as i have stated before not my dig man.....now you wanna come see me in the twisties ill see ya there...

 

me and her were neck and neck on gandy one night. neither one pulling away at all. and she is like 75lbs lighter then me prob.

her wheelies suck tho. (or atleast the ones i saw her do)
