Default BMW bike question

anyone know a good BMW bike mechanic, my friend has a 11yr old BMW and I think it's a R1100 which has 30,000 miles. He said it has a weird noise and my best deduction was a clutch throw out bearing making noise, when the clutch is engaged the noise goes away. The bad part is I don't know anything about bikes(give me DSMs or SRT4s-lol) and to make it worst is this bike has no chain, it appears to have a transmission. I figured the best advice I could give him is to point him to someone who know about this stuff...thanks for any help give
