Yup, I just got a pair of the new Frank Thomas boots - and have a pair of Icon riding pants. I think I may get something a little better for pants when I ride a little more.... the pants have kevlar (spp?) interwoven in them, but no pads. nice crotch vents tho!

Yeah, I think i was def shifting too early.... was up in 4th at like 35mph. I think keeping it in 3rd is proly best for where I'm riding right now.

 

wooow 4th at 35mph... im usually at second going into 3rd there.. did you take the MSF course by any chance?

 

Yeah, I took the msf course, but they never really focused on stuff like how to use turn signals, what rpm to shift on - on a REAL BIKE, things like lights, etc. they basically wanted to make sure you didn't take a handfull of front brake in a turn, and trying to keep away target fixation, etc. It was def worth it though. but there's a difference between some 150cc dirtbike from 1978 and my honda. lol

 

Ryan man, you got a sweet deal, you know I dont like Honda but yours is clean.... when ya guna let me take her for a spin? lol Just shift wherever you feel is comfortable right now, goin from cruisers to a sport bike is a jump so just take it at your own pace.... best way to learn to ride is to take it slow, not just jump on and crack the throttle shiftin at high rpms (even tho thats what i did ) Just makes you wanna go faster sooner
