^ He's probably right.

Even so if he was in gear and holding the clutch in with the kick stand down would it still start? My bike can start that way but if i let the clutch out when in gear with the stand down, dead

no...when i went back into the garage to get my soda i saw the headlight on and went over to the bike and moved the shifter into neutral and then i heard the fuel pump turn on...went to start it and it was wanting to crank up but it was struggling big time so i just let it sit for like 30 min and it cranked on with no problem

I just got a bike that really wasnt ridden that often, the battery died right away since it hadn't been ridden in like 3 weeks. I had a buddy come over, and we took out the battery and attached it directly to his truck battery with jumper cables. after about 5 min of his truck running, we put the battery back in. It works fine now, and has for the past 3 days. It read 10V before, and 12.75 after the charge. To charge the battery, at least on a honda CBR, it needs to be above idle as well...... it seems to only charge the battery when you ride it. at idle it puts out 12V... higher and it actually charges the battery.
