legal issues
I am guessing it would go to their health insurance first only because that is what would happen in a car (I think), but if they want to sue you there is nothing stopping them. If they do sue, it is just your lawyer vs. their lawyer so it would probably matter if you were riding like an idiot or not.

women love to go for rides on bikes. usually, when i give a girl a ride, i speed a little just to make the ride more interesting. i dont do triple digits or anything, but ill prolly do 10-15 over and give a little lean in the curves.
my question is. if you were to give some chick a ride and somebody pulled out infront of you or something happened causing you to lay the bike down. would you be responsible for her medical bills and also be open to any lawsuits if you did not have proper coverage on the bike?
reason i ask is because as of late there have been a lot of girls asking for rides. the majority of them i either just met, or have known for a short time, and i am pretty sure they would be more than willing to take everything possible from me in the event of anything happening.
its actually kinda scary when you think about the liability a passenger on a bike could be if anything happened.
thoughts?

agreed. i think riding a passenger is not only a liablility issue but it takes away from riding itself, because the bike wont handle and manuever like u are used to and it definitely takes away from your performance aspect.
it would probably be pretty easy for a plantiff's attorney to show that you were riding beyond your means (speeding, riding 2 up, etc...) and ability to control and manuever your bike. so i dont think giving them rides would be the best decision, but in any case...if something does go wrong, pony up big and get a badass defense attorney. dont take any chances. all in all, if someone pulled out in front of you, ideally it wouldnt be your fault...so any legal agression would be focused on that driver and their insurance and what they would be liable for, not so much you...however, if she is young and her parents hate bikers or something, i am sure they could come after you somehow. again, just get the best attorney you can find.
i dont take chicks who havent ridden on a bike before for any rides but in the boom boom room. there are chicks who are excellent passengers and you can do anything with them on the back and feel very comfortable while doing so. then you have the newbs who dont know what thier doing and it makes you feel unsafe while riding.
example: while leaning into a turn they are suppost to lean with you, newbs will sit straight up and throw your whole balance off while your leaned over.
also you have the retards...i rode a chick on the back of my bike once and as she got on and was lifting her foot up to the peg she pushed the peg in. not untill 2 miles later and her foot almost going into my chain a few times does she decide to tell me this ride is uncomfortable wheres the peg?!?! needless to say you need to be careful who you ride on your bike. because if they do something stupid and get hurt your most likely at liability.
only in rare cases where the chick is extremely hot but a horrible passenger can you take them for a ride for "getting laid" purposes only

You are responsible for your passenger. Plain and simple. You had better have insurance if you're taking passengers, otherwise, you could be held legally liable for all damages and medical bills that arise. You are on very dangerous ground taking passengers without insurance. At least get insurance and make them wear gear and make them sign a waiver. I don't know if the waiver will hold any water in court, but it will at least show that the passenger was aware of the dangers and chose to ride in spite of them.
