Motorcycle accident injures rider in Clearwater

Clearwater, Florida - Clearwater Police are investigating a motorcycle crash with injuries. It happened last night on the Clearwater Memorial Causeway Bridge. Authorities say two motorcyclists were riding over the bridge when one of them lost control and smashed into the other.

One of the drivers then crashed into a light pole, knocking it over. Alan Kegg, 34, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center, the other driver, James Fink refused treatment.

damned biased media with their own agendas!

Worn tire or not, his down shouldn't have resulted in a ticket. I wonder if he hit the slick from the first accident?

regardless, full recovery wishes for both riders!

He got a ticket for having no tread on his tire... You bet your ass a trooper will give a ticket.
In auto accidents if the car was unsafe like tires or unsafe equipment you get a ticket... In there eyes that could have avoided the whole accident in the first place.. Ride safe,ATGATT and your bike should be safe as well!

Just like wearing your gear you should always check your bike PRIOR to riding it....case in point.....
John "Johnny Widebars" Taylor and Laura Taylor were coming home from Bike Week.
Blues musician and well-known biker John "Johnny Widebars" Taylor and his wife, Laura Ann Taylor, were killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday morning (March 4, 2007) as they drove home from Bike Week.
The deaths came amid a horrific 12 hours on Florida's roads that took 10 lives.
The Taylors had left the annual motorcycle epicenter in Daytona Beach and were headed west on Interstate 4 in Seminole County.
At 11:35 a.m. their motorcycle began to wobble from a "rear tire separation," the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The bike, driven by John Taylor, 46, was in the inside lane but veered into the median and flipped, an FHP report said. John Taylor died at the scene.
Laura Taylor, 39, was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The couple were married in July at Treasure Island.
