HID install question
Congrats!
Your gonna love them!
It "should" be plug & play.
Sometimes you need to splice a connector for the bulb.... no biggie.
Sometimes you need to extend to length of the wires between the ballast / ignitor and the bulb....
Not the end of the world, but may force the need for a relay to ensure you maintain 12 volts.
I believe, the rubber shroud works to pretect the circuit from interuptions...
When and where are you going to do the install?
Let me know if you need help.

I'm working on it at my house (North Tampa). If I can't get it to work I send you a pm.
I need to extend the bulb pair about 2 1/2 ft. Because this is an all in one ballast/starter, I don't think I can use a relay (see pic in original post). I'm going to buy some thicker than stock wire & test it before installing.

I am in Wesley Chapel if you need any help.
Here's what I have found to work when the current has to travel a distance longer than designed...
The Xenon Store
HID Relay Harness With Inline Fuse Relieves stress on your stock wiring system, or disable your DRL's. By drawing power direct from the battery using all 12 AWG wiring HIDs will turn on when triggered by your headlight switch. Built with a duel output 30Amp Relay it powers both HID ballasts, complete with all needed connectors for easy install, the Relay harness will also provide a level of protection for over voltages to you HID system with its inline fuse.

Black - Ground
White - Switched Source (usually plugs directing into your stock headlight harness)
Yellow/Blue - Plugs into the positive on your HID ballast
Red - 12V+ terminal on your battery

I extended the wiring 4 ft to test... nothing happened (no light). I cut this length in half and it worked momentarily... then the bulb burned out.
They are shipping me a new bulb and some of the high voltage wire I was supposed to use.

Mine did the same thing....needed "mo powr"... the relay provided it
I've got an extra if you want to give it a try.

My ballast is the same size and also has a separate igniter. The ballast is mounted right behind my left fairing. The igniter is right behind the headlight area. I like the setup that cecil is talking about. You can see a write up on gixxer.com... Its pretty similar.
thats way to much ur bike is running 10amps to the lights and thats what the HIDS take so theres no need for all that other wire mess...you cut that shit out than you splice the ballace and the light connector together... you can use all that extra wire that you dont need to extend it but you will need a relay

I just spoke with the manufacturer on the phone. They will exchange my kit for a mini-ballast version that will fit in the nose. He told me the light runs at 480v (even higher at ignition)... i.e. not something I want running across the bottom of my gas tank.
I'm going to first see if the bulb will work again without the wire extension as Ceil suggested. If so, I'll see if there's any way to mount the 4x4x2" ballast in the nose.

theres somewhere you can mount them heres where i mounted mine...

i wouldnt recommend using the 3m double sided sticky tape... i would use the 3M velcro so you can remove the ballace if you needed to...

I didn't think about putting it in the side. On my 1000, there's practically no room in the nose.
The bulb I have is fried like chicken. The new one and smaller ballast is on it's way.
