im lookin to buy a zx7r from a friend of a friend of a friend and i dont want to get screwed over. ive been trying to get my first bike for about 8 months now but didn't have a good amount of money until recently. the bike is a 2000 zx7r with a little over 10k miles and has a clean title and never dropped or stunted for $3k. i dont know anyone who has owned a kawasaki and dont know much about the bike. has anyone heard of any reoccuring problems with it? what type of problems should i look for when inspecting it?

 

have a local shop like velocity moto inspect it. that is the best thing you can do.

the zx7r are awesome bikes, but a bit heavy by todays standards.

 

yea thats prob my best bet. you think it might be a tough bike to learn on because of its weight?

 

Shouldnt be a problem. look at it on this aspect: older people jump on the 3 ton harleys and learn on those. i give it about a week and you'll by comfy with it. but like raul said take it to a shopppp!! if you live in st.pete id take it to kawie on 34th st and 35ave (around there) they are the nicest people ever and their work is great just a little bit on the expensive side.

 

cant go wrong with a ZX-7....no recurring major issues with the 98-00 ZX-7's...even though she's heavy, she still can MOVE so BE CAREFUL.

my real advice is to spend as much money on as much gear as you can afford and WEAR IT WHEN YOU RIDE!!!!!!
