Default Stay away from Motorsports of Tampa

I will start here by advising everybody to avoid Motorsports of Tampa at all costs. I got an oil change done there and they neglected to properly tighten my drain plug. I noticed a oil burning smell a couple days after the fact and called them up and they advised me that it was probably residual oil and it is nothing to worry about yet. I go about my week and still smell it on Thursday so i call back...again the same answer. Then low and behold on Saturday the smell is back and the bike gets real loose in a corner and makes me almost drop it. By this time the shop was closed so i start heading home and the drain plug completly comes out which soaks the rear tire and back of the bike in oil and causes me to eventually go down while i was trying to get it out of the road. I called them to advise them what had happened so they apologize and come get the bike this morning. I didnt hear anything all day about it so i called today before i left work and they told me since i was a mechanic i should have been able to find and fix the problem myself. The guy said if i was a lawyer or a business man he could understand that i wouldn't know what i was doing. I told the guy that i was new to bikes and that is why i get my service done by shops but apparently that doesn't matter if you are a mechanic. So if i was looking to get a bike serviced or for that matter get anything I would go somewhere else. They dont stand by what they sell or by the work there technicians do. I guess i'll see just how far all of this will have to go before lawyers have to get involved. oh well....

WOW...sorry to hear. Were you hurt when you went down. Obviously you should be concerned about motor damage with low/no oil...

was this a GSXR?

Glad you did not drop it.
Hope they "make it right" for you.

I will also say dont go to motorsports of tampa, ever.

They do half ass jobs. My friends tire was put on wrong, and they gave my bike back when marks that magically appeared.
