Default passed yesterday

I completed my training this past weekend. Its in Ybor, cost $245 fro 3 days.
I went here:
http://www.motorcycletraining-fl.com/TampaMap.htm

I learned so much. Like someone posted above, there was several experienced riders that found they had trouble with some manuevers. They even have experienced riders courses and for $35 per hr. they will show you some techniques on your own bike.

I feel much more confident than before and I learned so much. Benny and Tom were my two instructors and they were very cool!
I reccommend it highly!

Hey buds. I signed up for the DMV motorcycle skills test this Thursday 3/15. I'm a new rider, I've been learning on a 600cc sportbike. I want to know if anyone has the specifics of the test please? I would like to practice on my own before I go. I've been practicing emergency braking, tight U-turns and slow slaloms. I think the part that most concerns me is the slow speed slalom. Does anyone know how far apart the cones are spaced?

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping I only have to take this thing once.

Where do you study for the permit written test? I'm signed up for an MSF course in a couple weeks but i've been driving my bike around my neighborhood and i don't want to get pulled over for not having license .

The test probably has all those "how many feet before a turn..." questions right?

You can download and print the Motorcycle Handbook here: DMV Handbooks Online. Most of the questions are straight from the handbook...ie. type/color of gear to wear, riding in hazardous conditions such as night or in the rain. But there were a few scenario questions that weren't directly from the handbook. For instance. You're on a 4-lane road coming up to an intersection where an on-coming car is preparing to make a left...how do you approach this scenario. Possible answers are things like get in the far right lane, slow down, speed up, change position once you're in the intersection. The important thing to remember with the scenario questions is that they always want you to consider where you should be to be the most visible to everyone on the road and the furthest from harm.

Read thru the hand book a couple times. Try to apply the things you've learned while you're riding. And despite common misconception, performing a wheelie to be more visible while passing a vehicle isn't the best practice in the DMV's mind.

+1 My fiance and I just went through this coarse this weekend. Benny, and Bill were our instructors. Very good class to take. I would recommend them to everyone.
