yeah i think you may be the only one... good job not being stupid thou. may want to check out other brands of helmets when its time to replace that one... the icon's that i've been around pretty much suck. i'd go as far as to say i'd own a bell before a icon.
just resist lowering it 4 inches... that seems to be hard to avoid, as a gix owner.

Lowering doesnt improve cornering, it makes it worse.

Lowering the front has similar effects to raising the rear. But like with anything else... too much of something isn't a good thing.
Lowering the rear would affect cornering negatively, including affecting ground clearance.
Like everything else... there are side effects...
Too much lowering of the front or raising the rear will quickly lead to less stability at speed. Some bike don't even need any of this.
Lowering the rear may have a negative effect in turn in ability but does gain some stability at speed.
