Just Got My First Bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats man and welcome to the awesome sport of riding. ATGATT (all the gear, all the time). As trite as that sounds, I'm serious. I went down and hit my head with a full-face helmet on and still ended up with a brain injury and in a coma. So, it saved my life, needless to say. If I had a jacket and pants on, I wouldn't have an sore shoulder and burned ankle. Just ride smart, stay safe, and enjoy the ride.

Seriously, though, the MSF is a great idea. Log some miles pick up some good habits and then maybe a riding school up at jennings.
I would try and do as much riding as you can. Definitely do some north runs but don't try and keep up if it causes you to ride beyond your limits. Find a bud that knows the roads and the two of you hit it. They are so few twisties in FL it is pathetic, so when you can find them enjoy. At least you will be somewhat prepared for real roads when you take a road trip to the mountains. The one type of riding I personally try to avoid is in Town where cars purposely try to run you over.
Most importantly, have fun and be safe.
