Default 2000 r6 Question

Just purchased a 2000 r6. Was wondering what the normal running temp is? I was riding for about 30 minutes and the temp got up to about 215. Is that normal?

Thanks, Josh

Sounds normal to me... My GSX-R1000 gets up to around 225 if I am stopped before the fan kicks in and brings it back down. It runs anywhere from 165 to 210 depending on the air temp.

ideal running temp is between 180-190.....anything over 225-235 is hot but as long as it comes down once you start moving you are ok.... you might want to run it for 25-30min the take it home and see if your fans kick in at 225.

check your fluids and hoses too.

p.s. if you just bought it it might have race fuel in it and that will make it run a little hot, but it will make it run better....
