The 675 was not considered the fastest.
0-60 3.2 sec
1/4 10.76 @129.31
HP 106.99 @12500 rpm
tq 47.49 ft lbs
top speed 155 mph
ZX6R
0-60 3.0
1/4 10.58 @132.36
hp 109.43 bhp @ 13210 rpm
tq 46.46 ft lbs
top speed 160
Heres the ups they said on the ZX6R that I like.
Killer torque/great top end power
drag racers delight
The 675 won the best "all around bike"
The 636 came in second (I dont see 4th place)
And almost won in 05 but it had "stability issues on the track. No symptoms this time though"

the one I'm talking about is not a 600cc bike shootout.
its the masters bike of 2006 test.
it has nothing to do with 1/4 times or top speed... only lap times on the track they picked this year. (a moto gp track)
I'll dubble check when i get home what issue its in.... I'm pretty sure its cycleworld thou. cause i have been wating for any mag to cover this test so i check the mag rack everytime I'm around one..lol.

The interesting thing this test proves is that more hp/bigger motor does not necesarily equal better performing sport bike. I am actually really surprised!

well as far as race tracks go...600s are where its at... and in fact if you pick up the mag they graph entry speed and apex speed. it shows where each bike was fast and where each bike is slow.
that's why when people built track bikes they mostly built 600s.
just remember the street riding is not track riding... buy what fits where you ride... for me thats a 1000 but if i were a track junky I'd have a 600 gutted track bike.
