Manny , your right , unless you have a Bill of Sale...Bill of sale with a lost title is doable.. I didnt have a problm with it.. I bought an old beater to fix up , guy misplaced the title , instead of him doing the title search and me waiting , i brought my bill of sale to the dmv , did the title search and walked out with the title ,came back a few days later with it signed , not his signature of course and i got every thing done...Not saying its the best way togo about doing things , but when ur in a pickle , it works...

 

the problem with going to the dmv and doing a search for the title is if a bank has a lein on it you still wont be able to get it intil the lein is all paid off.plus my problem is the title is in another guys name which is long gone and im getting it from my uncle so i couldnt get a bill of sale from the guy who's name is on it, but keep the info coming.....

 

Hey amn , a Bill of sale is easily forged... The dmv doesnt necessarily know the mans signature... and even if it didnt completely match the title , doesnt mean they are going to ask questions about it...The guy is long gone , so getting him to sign anything is prolly not gonna happen..So unless you wanna go through the hassle of swapping frames , ide give it a shot.. as a last resort , you can always get another frame..But make ur self up a bill of sale , and atleast attempt what i said in previous posts , it DID work for me... and i have such shitty luck with everything... and if it doesnt , u always have other options...i apologize for giving you the non ligit ways of going about this , but ur situation sucks...
