83 in a 45,HCSO got me at the light at Waters/Anderson going North on Anderson.

I was at the light for some good time.The car behding me was there for some of the time while I was stopped.The light was about to change,then I saw weird lights flashing on me,the god dam cop walked up on me at the light.

I always look behind me to make sure im not going to get hit,but dam he snuck up on me.He walks up,shines the light on me.Yells at me to turn it off.

So im thinking
"im going to get dragged out my car.... wait.. Im on the dam bike."
I asked him if he wants me to pull off the road,to get out of traffic.I guess he thought I was going to run.

He ask me,did your "instructor" teach you how do to 83,in a 45.I said no sir,I havent took the class. So he replys with,then who taught you how to do 83 in a 45?

I shoulds of said I watched C H I P S when I was younger I didnt want to feel like a dumb ass,I was more embarassed than scared,that he will drilling me about the saftey class.

I turn the bike off,he asked for my liecense.Which I give him,then ask me if I have a endorsment.Then he says just pull into the 711.So I did,then he ask me for my endorsement.I said I dont have one.. he said you dont have one?

I said I have a "permit".So I pull it out and give it to him..He comes back 5 mins later,tells me this is not a permit.
So im thinking wtf? I took the god dam test..

He shows me the paper and its the paper when they give you a paper tag.(That I never threw away)
So I go back into the wallet,and pull outthe permit.

He comes back to em about 10 mins later..
Tells me I have a few "options"
I can take this $300. ticket and pay it.(I will just pay a lawyer $100. to take care of it)

He can take me to jail for "wreckless endangerment (?)"
Bonding out is no problem.
I dont know people cell #'s its programed in my phone,and getting the bike out of impound would be a problem.




Or I can promise him I will make it home tonight safe.
So I said yeah ill go home,I was on the way there (From QSL)
So he said OK sir,I really want you to take it easy on the bike,alot of people been dying and I know you just got your bike.

I said yeah I got it not long ago.

He said he had to go to a wrech a week ago?
In Westchase,a guy wrecked his bike.ONLY had 11 miles on it..Well he didnt make it home.

This cop was very understanding how "fun" they can be and how easy it is to break the speed limit.But do it out of city.The he explains on how it may not be my driving,but others.

He then was telling me on how he wants a bike etc etc.. Then I ask,can I ask you a question?
He said sure,I said how long you been following me?

Keep in mind I just got back from QSL,doing 100+ over the Causeway,then about 110 down Vetrans to Hillsbourgh,then 90-100 down Hoover.I got stopped at a light on Hoover,and tried to get into the bike hard and the dam tire came up on me,scared the shit out of me.

Halfway down Anderson I saw 3 cops pulling one car over..
Well he tried to get on me around Sligh and Anderson,but traffic and me gone he couldnt get up to me.

He asked me if he scared me,I said yeah,cause I didnt see you walk up on me,and you had the light in my face.He said you was going to run,I said thats one thing I dont believe in,running and then dying.

I can go home with a ticket.Getting chased then getting hit might not let me go home.He said thats good you understand that.

He let me go with no tickets or what not.Told me to ride safe..



Im tired and now going to sleep.

 

Oh btw,he was in a silver/gold Lincoln LS,Thats why I didnt see a dam cop behind me.
Plus with my tag on the side going up and down.Made him think I had it like that to run.

 

It's a conspiracy I tell you.... the COPS are just out to get us....
No wait... that's ridiculus.

Glad it worked out for you... hopefully it will serve as a lesson learned for not only you, but others as well.

COPS are the good guys.

I bet if you were endorsed you'd have gotten the ticket. : (

Not saying that you shouldn't take the MSF course, I learned a ton from it - but from what I understand cops are extremely lenient if your cool with them and have a permit as opposed to an MSF course completed and endorsement. : )

Glad to see that you got out of your ordeal unscathed mang....welcome to the world of motorcycling. : )

 

i see it the other way around, like yeah, you know what not to do, but you have also been trainned in the safe operation of your bike,not at those speeds none the less, buts thats just my opinion on it

 

Was this guy in uniform? Did he identify himself as a cop? Was he in his jurisdiction? You may have not gotten a ticket because he was:

A. not a cop,
B. outside his jurisdiction, or
C. a detective or other type of cop that doesn't carry a ticket book

For some reason, I have yet to be stopped on my bike. :fingers crossed:
