If this is your 1st bike...just ride it and get used to the ropes of riding. Hone your skills then step up. You will be a better, smater, faster rider in the end!!!

this is the first bike I've owned, but have ridden many many other bikes. This is not the first bike I've driven, my favorite was the gsxr1100 I rode around, that was like sex. I don't live in Tampa either, so traffic down here is very very timid

Riding around on bikes doesn't count so do not kid yourself....you need to be on the same bike for atleast a year, and actually put some miles on it.....get used to the bike, then do some North Runs with someone you know...this will tell you if you are developing the right skills...if you ever need help with a riding question just let me know
