really?

wtf... i wouldn't think they call for that.

crazyness, good luck then. that shit sounds like it will cost a hell of a lot. i had them check mine after i blew it up on the spray but they still sealed so i didn't have them do one. even thou the head was already off and at the shop for valve guides and seals. just felt like money i didn't need to spend.

ummm.

I'd have to look. i had the case bored for the 1040 kit, all new seals and guides put in. which were only a few $ each but i have a 5 valve per cyl head so it added up fast in parts. with cleaning and checking for cracks. i paid around 600 total. about 250 in just the head.

but i also pulled the motor and just droped off the head and cyl case. I'm into the whole rebuild for about 1300$ with the pistons, gaskets and little shit.

i say call chad like above but if you want to, give rtm a call too. that's where i had my stuff done. mostly cause its close to my house and didn't feel like driving out to kinetic. but i will say i like kinetic better the time i was out there.

DUDE!!!!

You dont have to pull the head to reshim the valves. In most bikes you dont even have to drop the motor. I'll shim the valves for you for $250. But once you become a Seductive Cycles members it's free.

More then likely though, you wont need your valves reshimed until about 24-28k if your running good oil.

i know that is about how much i got quoted to do a valve adjustment for my honda. so needless to say i decided not to have it done. so it is a little noisy but it is fine. they only need to take off the valve cover to do it though not the whole head.

see this is the adjustment I'm thinking it calling for.

you sure it says to pull the head and have a valve job done? I've one really heard of this if you burn a valve and need to replace one. or if they arn't sealing.

They may call it a valve job now-a days but technically its called a valve adjustment. Cause thats all youre doing. Like ??? said, a valve job is cutting the seats and lapping the valves.

or in the automotive world we call it adjusting valve lash. lol jeremy you dont need them adjusted are you losing power? are they ungodly loud? even at 26k most bikes dont even need them adjusted its just an inspection with a feeler gauge.

i have talked to several bike mechanics that say that the honda almost never need the valves adjusted at 15,000 i wouldn't have it checked till 20k at least
