Who here frequents the Track?
I'm in the process of losing my license; (Don't ask). My Lawyer said the chances are not in my favor. If that's the case. Jennings here I come. If I can't ride on the streets, then I might as well take it to the track, and improve my skills for when I am streetable again.
Who here, takes it to the track almost every weekend? Is Jennings the closest, best track around?
Kind of new to the whole Track scene, but I am very interested in finding out some more information about it.

I race ccs and i am a track whore. Jennings is the best track to race a bike on in FL, and will teach you all you need to know. Other places like homestead, moroso, and daytona dont host track days, just race days.

Manny, they actually have people instructing/helping on track days? Is that what you meant by "will tech you all you need to know".
i used to visit jennings all the time. being here in tampa is in between moroso and jennings. i like jennings cause its flat and fast and its just such a well balanced track. it has a bit of everything tight and technical and it has some on the gas sweepers. my personal favs are turns 1-6 &10-14. Watch out on turn 8 a lot of people crash there(including me).
manny will probably chime in sooner or later with stuff i missed.
how long are you going to loose your license, if its more then a year you might as well track out that bike and sell off all your street stuff, because the race track is a million times more addictive then any drug. going to the track will give you an adreniline rush un matched by just about anything.

You're the person I've been needing to talk to.
Tell me, how expensive is it to be a track whore. Besides leathers, plastics, tires and all of that stuff that comes with the track. How much money do you pour into your hobby/lifestyle of being a track whore?

That is the perspective that I have been looking at. The Adreniline rush. It's not about going 160 in a straight line, that just doesn't do it anymore. I need that lean angle, my knee scraping the ground, and not a cop in sight to do anything about it. I get a little of that adreniline from the streets, knowing that it isn't even comparable to the track at all. That is why I want to become a track whore. My main problem will be getting the bike to the track.

***Warning when you get really fast(around or under 1:25 lap times) you always end up on your backside. it could be your fault or you could get tangled up with another rider (because jennings tries to keep the novice group slow for 1st timers, so 2nd or 3rd time rider get into intermediate and they should be in novice still.)***

First off i put my entire life into this, but i am a racer, not a track day enthusiest... theres a huge difference. I would not suggest that life style to anyone because i spend every dime i earn on my hobby/life, but its all well worth it since i have surpassed all of my expectations yada yada yada blah blah blah... now being a track day whore is cool, you go out there have a good time, and you dont have to be under extreme pressure like racing. Once you have the proper gear track days are pretty cheap. You can go with slightly worn tires, and pay for gas food water, and a $120 trackday fee. At most, if u need to buy new tires, a trackday would cost you $350 MAX, with everything included, which is nothing compared to a $800+ race weekend.
Jennings will teach you everything you need to know because jennings has many types of turns, like Chicains (S turns), slight cambered, and dog legs. I found out i was able to apply what i learned at jennings, to different tracks i was unfamiliar with. Jennings is a fast track, and is very decieving, there are so many little tricks to get around there, takes a good while to learn. Many turns you cant take how they seem, like i know C4 went down at 7-8, which is leathal, everyone goes down there... but the quickest way through that turn is the safest way, which is also the ballziest way, which is also the way you would least expect it to be taken... its ok, i just confused myself lol.
