Default Front fairing removal on an SV650S?

Ok well I'm looking for a first bike and after seeing that SV650 thread, I feel like it would be a good learner bike....agreed? There is one for sale in my price range but it is the "S" model....does anyone know what the differences are? Also, it has the front fairing which I think looks ugly...is there any way to remove it to make it look like the naked SV650? Here is a picture of the bike.

why not just save a lil bit more and buy a bike you like ... no point in buying something that you never thought you would have wanted from the start

That WOULD be the smart thing to do eh? Only problem...I'm an impatient mother f'er....I'd love to have that black bike on the bottom, but it is 1k more than the red one....and if I was going to spend $4k (which I probably will end up doing) I'm just going to get a CBR or R6, but I'll have to wait to make money in the summer and also get my scholarship check in the fall .....hrmmmm....waiting sucks.

Also it's not that I don't like the bike....I just like the black one better aesthetically...and if I could make the red one look like that I'd prob jump on it....cheap beater bike for my first one...

You're definately gonna want to leave that on there... gonna be throwin all kinds of nasty shit up into your radiator if you happen to get caught in the rain, and gonna get your engine all messy. Pita to clean.

Matt ur right, theres no way in hell i would ever leave that front fairing on there, the street fighter look is awsome. Unless you TR experts could convince me otherwise, I think that SV650 is a good bike for a beginner, not too much power, but its there.

I know on the 03's that the handle bars and rear sets are different. I don't know if it's the same on the older models. The "S" give you a more leaned over ride.
