Default Christmas Light Ride - 12/22/2005

Since the last thread kinda fell off the way-side... what's the deal-i-o?

Are you freakin sissies gonna ride tonight or what?

We can adjust the ride to fit those who will attend (ie: change the meeting point, time, destination, etc.).

The weather is absolutely gorgeous... shouldn't let the opportunity pass by ladies.

For starters...

How about 7pm at the Hooters in Brandon (open for suggestions)?

If you're scared.... Say you're Scared.

funny story..lol

it had a hurt head gasket for a few months. ride it hard and it would puke water out of the overflow...

so a friend of mine was selling a n2o kit and i had the good idea of putting it on and see what would happen at the last tr trackday. well got it all done about 5am the night before...took it out and hit it in 3rd gear with a 60hp shot. instead of filling the overflow bottle it blew it out the cap and all over me at about 120mph....

fun times

but i took it to the track anyways with just a tiny bit of water in it, just enough to make the 1/4. only went 2 passes on the spray. first one i messed all up..lol kinda expecting things to go bad on a 60 shot in 2nd gear... but it never even blinked... so next pass i was better and went 10.2 at 141 but that was the end of it...lol

hardly ran after that pass and by the time i got home it wouldn't even turn over. guess the cycl filled with water on the ride home..lol.

so its getting a 1040 kit and uping the kit to the biggest jets (68hp) and one more trip to the track... I'm thinking solidly in the 9s

oh and I'm guessing you would know this, but do you know of any shops local that do good work around here to bore it and check to see of the head is still flat or needs decked?

What kind of bike is it? If it's a new generation I-4 your going to need to send the cylinders to millenium technologies or Orient Express so they can recoat the cylinder walls. I guess the coating that the factory uses is toxic and there are only a few places in the country that can do it. Millenium Technologies has great customer service and a super reputation. They are the ones who did my R1. You might be able to have it bored localy, but they wouldnt be able to recoat the cylinder wall. That means more friction, less HP and lower engine life.

Another option would be to send your cylinders to Orient Express as a core and buy your whole kit through them. That would probably be the fastest turn around.

As for the head, there is a guy in Seductive Cycles who can mill your head (if it needs it). He has a Multi-million dollar machine shop at his disposal. While the head is off, you might want to have it ported. That's where the real power is.

If I had to choose between displacement and porting, I would definatly going to go with porting. I think with bigger displacement your going to be dissapointed with the power gains. On my R1 with boaring alone I only gained about 4hp and I went 2mm over. With porting I gained 14hp.
