Check 2nd gear. Make sure it doesnt disengage or jump under acceleration. Also check the steering head bearings and swingarm pivot bearings. If there is any play they are bad. When checking the steering head also make sure it's not out of round.

my guess is OLDandBUSTED has no idea what you are talking about

Cliff Notes:
It's probably a good starter bike... it's cheap and already rashed up.

Pretty much any bike you can ride home for $1500 is a deal, especially if it's a somewhat modern bike. It's probably not a bad purchase.

yeah.. i went thru the same thing when i got my first bike..

you want something cheap but never really ridden anything. so to just jump on a bike and beat on it to make sure it doesn't pop out of gear is kinda hard.

i took someone with me to at least go make sure it rode ok for me.

hey if you dont get it. do mind tellin me where its at. i would check the frame and forks though to make sure nothing is bent. a dirt bike is a good tool to learn from, you can use that knowledge to help you on a street bike
