Default Carbs or Fuel Inj.?

Bike manufacuters always used to use carbs till around 2003 Why did they change to fuel injection ? Fuel injection has been around since the late 70's but they never incorporated in motorcycles till lately ? Is carbs better that fuel injection , whats the good and bad? -James

I hate carbuerated bikes. They piss me off! (first hand experience...sorry) Fuel-Injection seems to be much less maintenence and therefore less problems to worry about.

FI is more precise, predictable, efficient and still work perfectly even if upside down. IMO you cant even compare the two. They taught that back in auto tech school. If carbs were better, they'de still be in cars, etc...

carbs still have there place..... and as long as you keep on top of them they seem to be fine.

i was a big hater of carb's till i rode a few fi bikes. now i see why the r6 stuck with carbs for sooo long.

I dont know why you wouldnt like FI. As long as the system is functioning properly, and with proper mapping, staying with carbs is like keeping the horse and buggy. Plus, there is little to no maintance for FI. But carbs are still good for lawn mowers.
