im thinking of boostin the z1.. hoping i can use this kkk k26 i have.. not really lookin to boost crazy numbers.. but my question is what all is needed to boost a bike..

other than

turbo
turbo manfold (turbokaw hoping u can help me with who makes one?)
what kinda carbs should i go with?
where can i get aftermarket cams from?


im also thinking of going with a big bore kit.. probly rebuild the motor first before the turbo.. hoping i prettymuch do it myself.. i found a site (http://redlinecycle.com/ocindexmain.html) that sells different sizes kits and other parts..
im pretty sure my cam chain is gone(so my dad keeps telling me)

what other parts should i look into getting?..

 

Seeing as it is a carb'd bike TurboKaw is going to be your man.
When fabricating the header, be mindful of oil levels with respect to the turbo.

My guess is if you can get the bulk of it fabricated, you can tinker with it till the end of time.
Sounds like a great project.
I may be able to help more a little later... doing a bit of experimenting right now with mine.

You need to get by and see my setup for drawthru. Pretty simple, basically a MR turbo setup which is clone for the Kawi turbo bikes. No special cams, i run stock. Cam chain is a must, get a Tsubaki. My weekends are getting less bust if you want to swing by Tegmiester. DO the motor at the same time if youare going to do it, so you can get the pistons set up for the turbo. You do not have to go with a big bore kit if yo do not want to, seen many Kawi's int eh past with 1050 kits and turbo's running low 8's on dragbikes. I just got greedy and went with 1500 cc.

just let me know. Oh if you are going to replace the cam chain figur on all the rollers and guides that go with it. I really didn't spend a lot of cash on the topend, it is a turbo, no need to. No high lift cam so no need to beef it all up. I put my whole turbo setup together for about $1500 and that included a brand new rayjay turbo for $900. Biggest issue will be the header. But should be able to find a used one somewhere.

prolly not. Look at the exhaust port size and spacing between the ports. Look on the web for a turbo header or complete exhaust system for a KZ or J model. There is only three parts to it. The hearder, the wrap around pipe to the turbo and the exhaust after the tubo. I got lucky on mine and got the header, waste gate and wrap around pipe used for cheap and then coated them Modified the wrap around pipe to work with my turbo and viola. had a little banana pipe made for the exhaust.
