I rode my brother's F3 last time at the track and by the end of my first session I was matching the times from my 954 and runnning my fastest laps ever from the 2nd session on. This was on a bike with jacked up suspension and 35hp down on the 954. The best part was I felt like I was working half as hard then on the 954 having to worry about highsiding myself every corner. Once I get the suspension redone on the F3 it should really be a hoot to ride.

If you are serious about doing lots of trackdays/racing, I would seriously think about getting a 600cc bike. Much "funner" to ride and you'll probably go faster too.

 

Thats what i heard that the smaller bikes are easier to ride out there i was thinking along the lines of a 750 cause i'm a pretty big guy.

 

also is there plugs where you park for fans.... or do i need a generator?

 

A lot of the pits have power outlets....but not all.....so get there early.

If you can, take a cooler with drinks and food. They have a stand out there but it's really expensive and you don't get alot of food for your money. Next time we go I think I'm going to pack cubans for everybody. Oh yeah and take more water then you think you will need, I thought 32 bottles of water would be enough for all of us, I was wrong.

Save yourself a headache, buy my bike On a side note, don't go up there trying to drag your knee in the first session, it will come back to bite you(trust me) Go out work on your lines, body postion, and general comfort level. If your knee touches, it touches no big deal. Remember you don't have to drag knee to be fast. It doesn't matter if you're 400lbs on a 250 if your comfortable and having fun you'll go faster. It's not a fashion contest so a fat guy in a little coat is ok.

 

man.... that sucks you have to wear a 2-piece suite that zippers together....

i thought you only had to wear leather jacket / pants...

i was realy interested in going.... but i havnt decided if spending over a G just to go maybe once every few months...

those leathers and boots would never be worn again....

 

yeah i thought the same thing but i found out you can rent leathers up there so thats what i'm gonna do before i go buy some and if its something i like then i'll go buy some leathers.
