I don't want more HP, I want more low-end torque! I'm content with my 65hp, but the 82ftlbs just isn't enough anymore. Might be time for a bore and stroke! 110ftlbs say what?

There are many reasons. They will vary from one to another. I wanna play at the track a little for one. To feel a powerful machine underneath me is very excilerating. Be it a car or bike i like the feeling. To feel the acceleration that i can get from my bike, out of a car would cost much more money. Everything is about faster, bigger, better etc... depending on what youre talking about. Even smaller, for things like electronics etc.. Americans are all about more, more, more. Once you adjust to the power of your machine. We usually then look for more. Good, bad or indifferent.

It's never enough.

It's an addiction.

It's a hobby.

It's a series of short term goals.

It's fun.

people spend money on HP because they're afraid to lean it over

seriously though, i'd say a high percentage of people that strive for more HP on bikes don't know how to put their knee down. with the exception of a slip-on (mainly for looks and sound), i refuse to do anything to my bike, HP-wise until i'm able to drag knees. and then, most likely, i'll spend money on wheels, tires, and suspension before i do something HP related.

Can I exclude myself from that statement?
