thermostat or no thermostat
what would be the positive and negative of removing the thermostat and running the bike without it? i have had to replace a bad thermostat already once on the bike and it kinda seems like it is doing it again.
i was sitting at a light yesturday and the temp gauge got up to about 3/4 and the fan kicked on. when i go to pull away from the light the needle goes all the way to the top into the red and a little past it. as i drive it comes down pretty quickly but next light does it again. it wasn't that hot out yesterday some where in the 80's and i wasn't driving the bike hard. there isn't air trapped in the radiator either.
any thoughts or suggestions?

Thermos are there for a reason, to keep the engine at a more consistant temp. I would leave it. But when you change it this time make sure to give it a good flush. Possible that you just got a bad thermo.

Hmm doesnt sound like you need a coolent flush then, maybe you just got one of the defective units. that sucks to bad you cant return it and try another. Was the thermo from the stealership or was it some aftermarket one.

The bike might take longer to get up to operating temp. You might also have a problem with over heating becasue the water doesnt stay in the radiator long enough to cool down if your sitting in heavy tracffic, like bike week or something. Also during the colder months, your bike will take longer to warm up. It's generally not a good idea to remove your thermostat. The F4's are know for having bad Thermostats and Cam chain tensioners.
this is what dogboneR1 told me and it was the same thing honda told me. so i am going to get another if it is bad
