neutral at 100+ mph
today coming back from the beach my friend and i were testing how fast our bikes could accelerate compared with one another (note, this is not to be construed as a race, that would be immature). went to shift from third to fourth at a high rate of speed (wasn't using the clutch) and didn't pull the lever up enough. twisted the throttle expected to be in gear and YEOWWWWWWWW, neutral. kind of scary, but nothing bad happened except i got pulled pretty bad by my friend.

False Neutral. What kind of bike to you ride? What kind of oil are you using?

Does it affect you that much that some random guy 1500 miles away went and paid his own money for a 1000?
Do we really have to fight over who uses the back brake or not?
Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

I was just curious about the oil I've noticed that alot of the Semi-synthetics (for some reason) cause false neutrals. I dont know why. As far as oil goes, I love the Motul 300V, but most people arent willing to spend $13qt. on oil. I swear by the stuff though.
As far as the false neutrals go, I'd invest in a Factory Pro evo-7 shift star. This will eliminate false neutrals all together for you as well as make your shifting silky smooth. It's a mod you'll love. They retail for about $200, but it's money well spent. Especially if it saves you from having to rebuild your transmition.

It's not that hard. maybe an hour if you take your time.

I've had that happen to me before during a really quick clutchless shift. It ain't good, but if it only happens once or twice, it ain't bad. I wouldn't lose sleep over it unless it keeps happening.
