Screw Rossi
there's no set racing "line" through a turn. rossi established position, had gibernau not tried to close the door, there wouldn't have been contact. honestly, the rules of racing would not support you here, rossi was in the clear.

that contact was all gibernau... he dug in, and on the clutch hand view, i wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt trying to get ahold of rossi's barend with his shoulder or lever to take rossi down with him. (and by down, i mean fuck him up)

+1
this isn't car racing where you can use the other car to turn off of, bikes need to be leaned to turn... he ducked inside got turned into and both stood the bikes up. not good for either guy just the one on the outside took the worst of it....
racing thing, it will be handled on the track next race.

There's no way Sete could have seen Rossi... Sete had the best possible line and Rossi came in too hot. How the hell did Rossi set his position when he was behind Sete? You can't expect Sete to see through the back of his head. Get off Rossi's dick. He's a damn good rider, but that doesn't give him the right to purposely wreck people. This isn't NASCAR. Go watch that if you want to see people bumping and shit. I want to see skill. What Rossi did had no skill involved. It was a cheap move to win.
What's funny to me is that Rossi is(was?) one of the riders nominated (by the other riders) to represent them in the Riders safety commission....
"He is also testifying to the efforts that the FIM is doing with the help of Claude Danis in supporting his justified requests for ensuring the highest standards of safety in the circuits suitable to the new increased power, speed and characteristics of motorcycles. In this respect, after receiving a specific request from the riders to approve the creation of a Commission formed by the riders themselves, the FIM officially declares today its approval and also declares to accept the riders chosen, namely Valentino Rossi, Sete Gibernau, Kenny Roberts and Nobuatsu Aoki, as representatives of this Commission. On the other hand, the FIM has established the Grand Prix Safety Commission, formed by the representatives chosen by the riders, by a manufacturer representative and by a promoter representative (Dorna). A FIM representative will coordinate the work of this Commission."
Anyway - so who is to say that everyone has to take the same line throughout the race? Rossi decided to take the corner tight then wide, Sete - wide then tight. Oh well - this is a race for big money, and people are going to ride the edge and beyond if it means a win. Do I think he meant to take him out? No, but he damn sure wasn't going to make it easy for Sete and let him have the win by NOT trying to pass.....

rossi wasn't behind sete, he was next to him when sete cut tight.
a rider doesn't have to give another rider the best possible line just because that's how the guy approached the corner. had sete been smart, he would have known where rossi was, he would've taken an inside line to begin with, thus never allowing rossi to pull up next to him, then he could have held it as tight or as wide as he needed to keep rossi either behind him or on the outside. this would have made rossi travel further through the curve and give sete the shorter line to the finish and the win. sete's mistake because he DIDN'T take the correct line.

Like Rossi said, he lost control and went wide. As long as it was not on purpose, thats racing. It will be an awesome season. I really dont care whom won. I can appreciate the skills and effort for them both. PS... You wont find any chicken strips on their tires...

You can push the blame all day long back and forth...the point that needs to be considered is that the reason rossi usually wins IS because he doesn't try to follow everyone elses line. He takes a little more aggressive line, and it usually pays off if you can handle the bikes reaction to being pushed past the "safe point". Did you see the yamaha losing it in the corners, the honda is clearly set up a little better as it has been for the deep s' (even though, this new design is supposed to be better than the last...I still have to see it)...but, never-the-less, rossi still out-rode sete in the last turn by taking a tighter line and exiting wide. Your going to say well why didn't he take it a little wider earlier like sete...well then he would have lost and losing don't get the paycheck.
