To add to this and bring it to civilian terms......Frank......if you witness and accident in which you see a person that is in need of medical attention and you are a doctor; do you lean out the window and tell someone to call 911 then drive off? If some medical personel did that they could be jailed for not giving medical attention.
Do i think that jail time is harsh, yes. Is 15 days unpaid vacation enough, hell no. These people swear on the responsability to do everything in their power to help citizens. This is the same priciple that medical personel abide by....to help those in need. Did this guy fail to uphold his sworn duty. Without question, yes. If one fails to abide by, and provide, services which they themselves agree to be held accountable for, then they should not be aloud to remain in that profession.
We all have moments of weakness. However, when someones life is at stake and you drop the ball then there most definately is an accountability issue. The fact that he officer is hiding behind the union and not personally admitting due fualt makes it all that much easier to say that he should go to jail. Although we all know that the blue shield never allows their own to be held accountable.

The article said he dispatched help immediately. I mean he did send help, he was just an asshole. If the guy makes $50,000, he just lost ~$2000 for making some bullshit comment. That's sufficient for the guy being a prick bastard.
