Ok so Friday night I was at my second job cashering. Some guy I work with asked to see my keys to my bike to start it up to hear what it sounds like. Before I knew it he takes off on my bike through the parking lot. By the time I got outside I oculd hear my bike but couldn't see it. Out of know where he comes this kid around the corner and instead of slowing down before the turn he waits last minute and locks up my back brake. Needless to say he hit a curb, went through some shrubs and ran my bike right into a tree. I went and got an estimate on how much it will cost to fix it and the total is $3,800. I didn't have insurance on my bike and he said he will pay out of pocket but every day he changes his mind. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

very simple, sue him in small claims court NOW...

 

I think I forgot to mention, I never gave him permission to ride my bike. When I called the police they said they couldn't do anything because it was on private property.

Get what pictures you can, and get this done man.

 

The fact that you gave him the keys makes it hard to prove that. But you can still sue him.. file a claim today..

Well the thing is, he told me to give him proof of how much the repairs are going to cost and then his mom will pay. Should I wait to see if this happens?
