Trying to pick out my first bike.
Hey, I'm trying to figure out what kind of bike to get, I already read the starters forum but wanted to get afew more opinions.
These are some I had in mind... They would all be new (2004-2005). Lemme kno what you guys think would be best out of these. Or, if you got any better ideas let me know!
SUZUKI
-Katana 600 $6,299
-Katana 750 $6,999
-GSX-R600 $8,199
-GSX-R750 $9,649
KAWASAKI
-ZZR 600 $7,199
-Ninja ZX-6RR $8,799
-Ninja ZX-6R $8,599
YAMAHA
-YZF-R6 $8,499
-YXF600R $7,099
HONDA
-CBR600RR $8,799
-CBR600F4i $8,299
-SuperHawk $8,999
So I got it narrowed down to 12, lol, so help me out. Anything bad about any of these bikes let me know too. I'm gonna try to find some other good bike forums as well.

CBR600RR or R6
Personally, I would go with the CBR600RR because of Honda engineering. However, magazines rate the R6 higher. Will any of us here ever notice a difference? Probably not. If I had not gotten my Aprilia, I would have gotten a CBR I think.

Secondly, there are ways to make sure the used bike you get is in good enough condition. Arsoniq- Read the FAQ stickied and do a search! One of the best rules for a noob looking for their first bike is to bring an experienced biker and someone who is mechanically inclined so they can examine the bike to ensure you get what you paid for...
Getting a new bike as a first bike is just downright silly unless you have the money to blow. You will drop your first bike.. do you want to drop and possibly total a ~$9K bike? Or do you want to drop a $3K bike... Get the used bike for a few months and get some experience and rides under your belt, then trade up and get a new bike. Chances are if you did your homework you won't lose any money in the deal... bikes don't lose their value like cars do..
