I'm still toying with the idea of selling my Katana 600.... W/ Extended unlimited mileage warranty, and very well maintained... Never had any problems... For around 4,500. It's an 03. That way you get new bike reliability with a couple of G's off of the price...

Since when? You lose a couple of grand riding any given sport bike off of the lot, just like you do with cars. Check the book value on a year old GSX-R 600. The current nada book retail value on an '04 is $6505 (trade in is even worse at $4945) vs. the above posted $8199 for an '05.

Thanx for the advice, the reason I was thinking of getting a new bike is becasue I didn't plan on doing any crazy riding until I get pretty good and I don't have the cash up front to shell out so I was gonna finance it. Well, I still got another month, i'll see how much i can save up or w/e

I was dead set on getting an 05 R6 as my first bike. After I read this article I wanted a ninja 500, I couldn't find one so I ended up with a older katana.
