05 GSX-R1000 unveiled

This is the first official picture of Suzuki's 2005 GSX-R1000.

It promises to be even more powerful and even sharper handling than the current cutting edge K4 version.

Engine capacity is up from 988cc to 999cc, its wheelbase is .5mm shorter and it weighs 2kg less than the current model. At 166kg it's lighter than most 600s.

One thing is clear from this first picture - the rumoured duckbill-MotoGP-style front end styling the 05 model was thought to be using, has been ditched in favour of a sexier, purposeful look.

The whopping titanium end can is likely to provoke debate

The tail looks nice, the pipe looks queer as shit and why so low? that bitch'll be scraping soon after driven off the lot.. the design in the front has a stealth bomber look to it.. and not in a good way.. all the straight cut edges/corners.. I don't like it too much.. the headlight appears to be the same.... Blinkers in the mirrors pretty enginuious(sp) cept for those people who like to roll without the micky mouse ears.. then kinda skrewie.. another downfall of that is what's the first thing to pop off in a wreck? yeah.. the mirrors always tend to get fuckt up.. wonder if they thought of that? I see they are Taking up the rear hugger.. woot.. that's kinda cool although it seems too small.. the new front/intake/nose looks sexy.. overall... they have the same thing that I hated sooooo much this year.. take that stupid fucking S off of the tank!!!!! and thats about all I have to say about that..

 

What you got against the "S" on the tank?

 

OUCH look at that seat. My balls are hurting just thinking about it I don't like the look of it, but more cc and lighter than a 600 sounds pretty sweet. I like my year of the GSXRs the best.

Since the last model was strong even with all the new competition I expect this bike to perform real well.

I really doubt the muffler and integrated signals will make it to production. That is a deffinatly prototype, I have seen some larger photos and the welds on the frame and exhaust are nasty.

 

too me it looks like a really bad photoshop of an 04 600/750, same headlight and frame, etc. the fairings dont even match the rest of the bike and they quit putting the name on the bottom of the fairing.....
