ok, if you're talking "usable midrange" then look at at a yzf600r. more midrange than any of the new 6's just less in the top end, but nobody looks at the peak power numbers do they?

You gotta go on what your likes and dislikes are. And no gixxers are NOT comfortable. All of the makes and models have there pro's and con's. The reason he 636 is over powered to the rest of the models is because it has more displacement, hence the "636". Being a former Kawi owner I like them, but they are to my riding style. I had an R6 and didnt like it, to flaky through turns for me. Had 2 gixxers and fell in love. It is all in how you wanna ride. The gixxer is a more aggressive riding style, making it less comfortable but better feeling when your running hard. You just have to take a ride on a few different makes and models and see what you like?

Ill have to agree with comfort being the most important factor in picking a bike.

All the bikes you guys are talking about are pretty much "fast" and "powerful"...their power and how they perform are so similarily close to one another, that you really cant see those differences on the street.

Although the best thing to do would be to test ride all the bikes that you are interested in to see which one you feel most comfortable on, doing that is practically impossible. Sucks, but thats the way it goes.

Thats why Im on my 4th bike in the last 2 years...just trial and error until you find something you like.

Your riding style will also determine which bike you feel more comforable on.

King of Spades...nice 1st gen rex. You dont see many nice 1st gens. Whats done to it?

I think my gixxer is comfortable, i didnt go by power when picking out a bike cause they are all pretty close. I went by comfort, reliablity, and looks...
