First Time Rider Impressions
HELL YEAH!
Just took it easy around the neighborhood (no public streets since I have no tag yet, and no endorsement, lol.... spent about a half hour on it.
Anyway - First couple times around I never took it about 20 MPH or so (It's about a 3 mile loop) and just getting used to basic control, shifting, braking, getting used to the signals, throttle (DAMN THING IS TOUCHY!) and trying to find a comfortable posture.....
I really thought this was going to feel alot stranger than it does. The slightest movement shifts the bike right where I want it. I think the biggest thing will be just getting used to riding position, and the smoothness on the throttle...
We stopped and shot some pool (drinking cokes for the haters, lol) at a place next to the subdivision, and to be honest I felt more comfortable on it when we left since I had relaxed a bit and wasn't as aprehensive. Took it up to 40 or so, and I couldn't believe how smooth it was.
I don't think it's going to take long to pick up the basics. Going to have to find a place where I can practice some quick stops, etc... before I get a chance to get to the MSF course. I can see where you really have to have this down to instinct to feel comfortable enough to venture out very far.
Anyway - probably a few more nights of this before I head out anywhere. Going to take care of the license and tag stuff this week.
Definately going to enjoy this!!

if you thought you got cut off in your car a bunch, just wait 'til you get out there in normal traffic. people either don't see you, or don't car.

Wow, you're starting out IDENTICAL to how I did. Remember that you don't use your body to lean really. You push down on the handlebars in what ever direction you want to go. They'll teach you that in the MSF class. Slow, Look, Press, Roll. Good luck, man. Have Fun, and Be CAREFUL!

be careful man. You might feel comfortable as fuck on it, but remember to take it easy on it. All it takes is one fall to fuck your bike and yourself! Get your damn licsence so we can get some rides going.... maybe we can get a little group together! Play some pool and shit.
