pretty much as i understand it, in florida state you are not required to have motorcycle insurance. you know this because you can register a motorcycle with out proof of insurance (unlike a car where u need to have insurance on the vehicle before registering it). But if you have a loan out on the bike, the loaner may require you to carry insurance (that's a safety for them so u dont' go wreck the bike and say screw it i'm not going to fix it and not pay payments. if u have insurance it will be fixed, and they can atleast repo a repaired bike). in order to not wear a helmet in florida state you must be over 21 years of age, and have atleast $10,000 in health insurance.

Well if your concerned about Uninsured motorist or underinsured motorist, your PIP coverage is the first thing to pay out. If you do not have this coverage then your health insurance would cover the medical expenses. From there the uninsured motorist would pay out. As long as you have good health care, then no need for uninsured motorist
