My thoughts exactly...well you could try putting your left knee on the seat and your left foot in the rear grab bar while leaving your right foot on the peg near the rear brake. (because your probobaly going to need it) If you ride a 400ex and have never even lifted the front wheels after numerous attempts including pulling the bars and laying on the gas i don't think it's smart for you to attempt it. Just my .02

I've ridden for quite some time and I've been able to get my 600 up on accident and on purpose... its difficult to do it just double pumpin it.. but then again more then likely you pop the clutch your gunna crash n burn... the times I popped it up on accident I was racing and popped the clutch... ...just my story.. still can't get it to budge in second gear.... ...still need jet kit and timing advancer... pipe moved the power band to the higher rpms...

This was written more for my bike (which has a little more torque) but its a pretty decent read..

http://www.svrider.com/tips/wheelie.htm

I learned how to do them because if you shift the sv650 into 2nd hard and pull back just a little it pops right up easy...
