I'm in need of a bike to make a 40 mi round trip everyday. Id like to find around a 600cc sport bike but I'm open to whatever comes my way. I have $2000 cash today, and would like to find a bike this weekend.

 

Well as someone who has witnessed it first hand, I thought it would be important for you to know that you will never, ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever find a cleaner or nicer 600 than S14_Silvia_SEs. At least that was he/she/it said. Just an FYI.

Also if the bike is new enough I can push up to 3-3500. Really need to find something by next weekend, motivated to buy. I know somebody has bills to pay.

 

if your looking for an awesome commuter look into an ex500 or yamaha seca II...both are cheap, lots of parts available. And get amazing gas mileage. I get between 60-65mpg on my 2005 ex500

Yeah, I know they are good bikes..but they also sell like hotcakes and the last 3 I have seen have disappeared before I could get to them. I was 30 mins late on an sv650 yesterday too... pissed me off. Really though the looks of the 500 are just so dated that Id rather spend a little more and get something slightly more with the times. Really I wouldn't turn one down if someone said they had one for sale, but its an issue of there just not being any decent bikes for sale in my price range right now, I'm not that picky.

 

ex500 is soooo ugly, you might be able to find a used 05 636 for 3500. i did awhile ago i think the 636 is one of the best 600's ever made

 

Id freaking love to find a 636 for that price. The more I look around, the more I am trying to avoid very old bikes.

 

I was a day late on a bike as well. I've seen a 636 go for 3 even, my friend bought it. Right now is tax return season, so you will see a lot of bikes going for a little higher than usual. But if you wait until later in the year you will find a deal.

 

^+1 wait after summer, they usually go for much lower. Newer ones are coming out and you can def get a good deal.
