WTB commuter bike/sport bike.
Yeah everyone keeps bringing up tax season. If I had an alternative means of transport thatd be fine and well, but I sold my car to buy the bike..and I can only commute in my work truck for so much longer. Maybe Ill just score a cheap ass ex 250 and sell it for what I paid later.

Used bike prices will be back down for at least 2 to 3 years. When the economy crashed new bike sales went to shit so the big four cut production by 60%. Which means that there is not a lot of 2008-2011 bikes out there. So with a shortage of newer used bikes it will drive up the market on the older used bikes. Its going to be awhile before you see used bikes for $3k that have not been ragged the fuck out. Good luck every once in a while you will find a deal.

I wouldnt settle for a 250 just to try and sell it later. You might not be able to sell it for what you paid. I would just hold out or try shopping out of state. GA, SC, NC. It is a bit of a drive but to get a deal on a good bike it may be worth it. The bike market is just so mudded down here. Something you see for sale might be gone in a few min, people trying to pawn off their crap or over pricing their crap. Shopping somewhere where else might give you a better results.
I would have told the truck and stuck with the car. A lot of us that daily ride feel the pinch on gas prices too. A tank that used to cost 8-10 now runs about 15-18. It seems less compared to a car but when you add up the total miles you get in your average car and the amount to fill VS the amount of fill ups/ cost and milage for a bike. It kind of evens out. I also factor joy riding in this also. It also depends on the type of bike you get and how you ride.
